Europe Trip 2.0

Europe Trip 2.0

So this past October my wife and I took a trip to Spain and Italy, we loved Rome so much we decided to go back just a year later.

We had tons of routs planned out before we finally decided on the final route, but my awesome wife found out my favorite band was playing in Spain, we we saw them on our first full day in Europe. We flew in and out of Munich and Frankfurt Germany but we visited Sevilla and Madrid Spain, and Rome Italy.

Lots more description on the photos

The band Mando Diao and my wife and I.

Jens, Daniel, Me, My Wife,  BijÖrn, CJ and Patt

Mando Diao is a rock band from Sweden and this gig was in their off season, I messaged the manager and was able to get backstage and shoot the band from the photo pit, then they got us on stage and I shot the rest of the set from stage left. They are one of the most successful bands in Europe, pretty huge, and it was a honor to see them, let alone get to meet them.

Bijorn from Mando Diao

After the show, we got walked back then found a bike share, so we rode the rest to our apt around 3:30 AM. I was a little worried about our safety at that time but the streets had people all around still hanging around from being out, it was the same in Madrid, all night people are out and about walking and the streets looked pretty full.

Plaza de España, where a part of star wars was filmed. I’m not a fan so not sure but I looked it up to make sure it wasn’t a lie.

Night scene by the Cathedral in Sevilla

Inside the Royal Alcázar of Sevilla, the gardens were amazing!

Mercado San Miguel, they market has everything! Tapas to seafood to anything!

San Gines Chocolateria, the churros and chocolate was perfect for a cool night out.  We actually went twice

El Retiro park in Madrid, the Central Park of Madrid.  We took a boat ride and lots of pictures, I highly recommend visiting if in Madrid

Our last stop was in Rome, we stayed at the same Airbnb as last year, it was that good of a spot that we had to do it again.

Almacri, our favorite restaurant in Rome is down the street, we went all 3 nights, and went to the market on the street for a new jacket and baked goods. Perfect Spot!

Our host even harassed a cleaning place that was about to close, to stay open and press our clothes for the next day. Alessandro is a great host!

In this photo i’m all dressed, in the last you’ll see why.

Castel Sant’Angelo, steps away from the Vatican, this place was pretty cool to visit.

The roman forum. We didnt go down and walk on the bottom but you can still see how huge everything is!

So I packed a nice shirt, my wife packed a dress for this! Carried it in our one bag all over Spain and it made it to Rome!

Last year we were supposed to take newlywed photos but the photographer shaded out on us. This year we got someone else and she was great!

Till next time!

We try to plan one big trip a year and this year should be an Asian country…I think.

Senior Portrait Photographer

Hi, my name is Alex, I am a senior portrait photographer.

The months leading up to graduation can be one of the most exciting times of your life, new adventures await…be it going off to college or embarking on a new career.  With that being said, this time can also be an overwhelming experience preparing for the transitions ahead. Like most seniors, you’re probably busy preparing and studying for your last round of exams, planning graduation parties or packing and getting ready for that big move. But don’t let that distract you from giving yourself the gift of capturing this special time in your life! Let me help you capture these memories without the added stress.

My approach to senior photography is straight forward, we shoot, you choose the 15 best photos, you download the 15 edited digital files, That’s it! Simple.

Senior Portraits include:

  • Consultation on ideas, theme, location, wardrobe and my talent throughout the session
  • Sessions are up to 2 hours, but more time can be added as necessary.
  • Additional files are $25 each.

The Senior Portrait session rate is normally $250, but right now, before the last minute rush to take pictures begins, I am offering them for $200.

$100 deposit to  reserve  the  date and time of your preference.  The remaining balance is due the day of the session.

Below are a few examples of previous senior portraits I have done. Some on location at the school, some at parks, it’s really up to you where you would like to shoot at. This is the time to let your personality shine through and express what it is that makes you, YOU!

Prints, canvases, and other products available, ask when booking.

I also do head shots (great for LinkedIn and other networking requirements), events, and editorial photography.

Alex Garcia, an editorial photographer’s top 10 photos from his European vacation.

I hope you enjoy, these are some of my favorite photos while in Europe. We planned the trip for about a year, booked things such as the flights and lodging as much as 6 months (February) out and had everything booked and ready to go before we left (August). My wife and I started in Copenhagen, to Switzerland, Munich Germany, then Italy for 10 day, and ended in Paris for 3 days. While I didn’t get much editorial, or any work in, I managed to get some Great landscapes and worked on my selfie photography. All our planning and late nights paid off when we walked passed the hour or two long lines and straight for the entrances. Our longest wait time in line was only about 15 minutes, like I said, everything was planned. Rick Steve’s books, videos, audio guides and maps saved us so much time with the hints and tips, I don’t know how we would have managed our time without them. We kept under budget by shopping at the local markets and making the most amazing picnics while using the freshest fruit we’ve ever tasted. Tomatoes were vibrant red, greens were all greener, organic wasn’t a word they used, everything has always been organic. We did eat out, usually for dinner, in Rome we packed a lunch every morning, ate out for dinner and had the best Italian dinner for about 6 euros each.  Our Airbnb host showed us where to (and not to) go for dinner, he also showed us the market that was literally outside our door step, it had a bakery, flower, and coffee shops, fruit, vegetable, meat, cheese and seafood stands. We could get used to eating fresh food every day, it was like a supermarket right outside our door steps! In Paris our Airbnb host was a chef, so we had a 6 course meal complete with 2 wines and home made liquor that his grandmother made, it’s safe to say it was one of the best meals I’ve had.

We can’t wait to go back! Germany was one stop that took us by surprise. We fell in love with how amazing everything was, the efficient trains, buses, the cleanliness of the whole place and how nice everyone was to us. We plan to crash Oktoberfest one day very soon!!
